April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking piano and guitar lessons from seven years old. The passion for creating songs was sparked. When she was in seventh grade April started taking piano and guitar lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. When she was 14 April was devoted for a long period of time to creating song concepts and practicing her musical skills. Over the next few months, she began taking notes along with her father to LA in addition to NY. April also included additional topics in her track"Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with issues such as peer pressure issues or even teenage suicide thinking. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known cosmetics brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. The truth is that she was born without a left hand, and it creates her unique. It's not the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her handicap. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. The point? There is more to us than the physical person we are. The identities we have are complex and encompass a variety of dimensions. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I do not believe that disability will define my character. It's not my intention to influence disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." The fact that she is a disability influencer doesn't impact my daily life. All is well and I've learned how to adjust. Because it's my identity and something worth talking about. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. She has had periods where she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that showed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook with pride. Self-love, she says, is a kind of journey. "I believe that you will ever be there," she said. It's a journey, I'm not sure you'll ever arrive. I believe that it's really essential to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
